The living legend of Hindi cinema, Amitabh Bachchan turns 76 this October 11th and reports have been doing the rounds that his birthday is going to be a low-key one this year. No celebrations with any fans or media at his office at Jalsa, unlike old times! Bachchan has decided to keep his birthday a subdued matter due to the sudden demise of the Kapoor matriarch, Krishna Raj Kapoor.
The Bachchan family had undergone the loss of two of its prime members in the past three months. Shweta Bachchan’s mother-in-law Ritu Nanda not only lost her mother, Krishna Kapoor, but also her husband, Rajan Nanda in the course of two months. Hence, there might not be any birthday jamboree this year, although, last year his 75th landmark was luxuriously celebrated in the Maldives with family.
Krishna Raj Kapoor took her last breath on October 4th. She was 87 when she passed away due to cardiac arrest on Monday morning. After her death, Bachchan took to his blog to pen down his thoughts about the late Krishna Raj Kapoor. There, he described the matriarch as someone who kept a ‘vast family of celebrated individuals’ united. “Krishna Raj Kapoor… The matriarch of the family… The epitome of grace and dignity… Gentle and loving to all… Caring… Faultless in etiquette and family protocol… She kept this vast family of celebrated individuals together as one bond,” Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog.
