2022 MTV Europe Music Awards: Taylor Swift, BTS, SEVENTEEN, BLACKPINK & TXT Win Big
The 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards were held on Sunday and it was a star studded event where we also witnessed some memorable performances. In case you missed out on who won what, here’s a list of all the big winners.
BTS, SEVENTEEN, TXT, BLACKPINK, Harry Styles, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, amongst other, won big.
To begin with, BTS took home the Biggest Fans award for the fifth time in a row. The group’s latest release, anthology album ‘PROOF’ has received a lot of love from the BTS Army. The members solo albums have also been well received.
BLACKPINK also won the award for Best Metaverse Performance (for their PUBG Mobile in-game concert “The Virtual”) which saw their AI avatars take to the stage for ‘Ready For Love’. That’s not all, LISA, the youngest member of the band, won the Best K-Pop award as she made her immensely viral debut with LALISA. With this, BLACKPINK became the first K-pop female artist to win two trophies at the MTV EMA.
SEVENTEEN was awarded the Best New Artist while they also won the Best Push award, bagging two monumental wins.
Well, the K-pop bands shined and the 4th generation leaders, boy group TOMORROW X TOGETHER also took home the award for Best Asia Act.
Taylor Swift on the other hand, emerged as the big winner as she bagged four awards- The Best Artist, Best Video, Best Pop and Best Longform video for All Too Well (Taylor’s Version).
Nicki Minaj was also awarded prizes for best song, best hip-hop and a category called super freaky girl.
Apart from that, Harry Styles took home the trophy for best live performance.
