Bollywood actors Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Kangana Ranaut are known for speaking their minds and not mincing their words. Both stars are also staunch advocates of feminism in Bollywood. However, little did their fans imagine that their favourites would be pitted against each other for this very reason? The two Bollywood stars find themselves in a strange war of words and it doesn’t seem to be dying out anytime soon.
Sonam Kapoor, while attending the ‘Vogue We the Women’ summit in Bengaluru was asked about Tanushree Dutta’s allegation of sexual harassment on Nana Patekar and the actress supported Dutta. But then when asked about her opinion on Kangana Ranaut’s #MeToo story, the actress had quite a ‘hatke’ response. She praised Ranaut for taking a stand on the issue and expressed her respect for the same. Kapoor further revealed that though it’s hard to take Kangana Ranaut seriously at times, the latter has ‘spunk’ and says what she believes in.
What did @sonamakapoor really say about Kangana Ranaut at @wethewomenasia in interview to me ? "Sometimes it's difficult to take her seriously BUT I love her spunk." Went on to call #VikasBahl & #TanushreeDutta cases "despicable & gut-wrenching" & those silent – "cowards".Watch pic.twitter.com/Cun66sqyws

And Kangana being Kangana, didn’t take this well and lashed out at Sonam Kapoor. She questioned Kapoor’s right to judge her and promises to ‘demolish’ every person attempting to take a dig at her. Ranaut, in fact raised issues like nepotism and even questioned Sonam Kapoor’s acting abilities. With fiery statements made from both sides, the only concern which concerns their fans is that the focus shouldn’t shift from the #MeToo movement.
The war of words was expected to continue when Sonam Kapoor replied to Kangana Ranaut. But Kapoor’s post will rather melt your heart as the actress left no stones unturned to make things peaceful again. In a long Instagram post, the ‘Neerja’ actress blamed the media for misquoting her and asked people to spread love and get rid of negativity and bitterness. And now, we can’t wait to see what Ranaut will reply to this.

Women need to stand together! irresponsible media have misquoted me or taken my quote out of context and made other women react. All I want to say is that all I have is compassion and love for you. I’m proud of where I come from and so should every other woman or man. Let’s stand together and speak up. Let’s not pull each other down with bitterness and negativity. Love is always the answer. ☮️ 💖 drawing by @stayinkspired
