I am on the verge of announcing my next directorial venture. It is an action film — an epic drama. It has taken a lot of my time. Currently, we are putting everything in order, but we have locked the script. We will be doing a photoshoot. A poster will also be released.

Kangana also further spoke about the fact that earlier, female-led films faced difficulty in roping in producers. However, she feels that now, this has changed especially after her last film Manikarnika.

There are a lot of great stories to be told and actresses today are bringing a lot of business too. I am happy with the way Manikarnika worked for me — as an actor and also as a director. Now is the right time to start work on my second directorial project,” Kangana Ranaut remarked.

Kangana Ranaut was earlier planning to make her own biopic. She revealed to an online portal how the work for her biopic was in progress, but she found Jayalalithaa’s story very similar to her own and a ‘bigger success story’ too.

On the work front, Kangana will also be seen in Panga which has Richa Chaddha and is directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari. Mental Hai Kya is also one of Kangana’s upcoming projects which will have her paired opposite Stree actor Rajkummar Rao. The duo have also worked together previously in Queen.
