Even while we eagerly await the adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s fiction number ‘The Zoya Factor’ starring Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan, there is a new development for the author’s fans! According to reports, Yash Raj Films has acquired the rights for Anuja Chauhan’s novel ‘Baaz’.
A source close to the development reveals –
Yes, YRF has acquired the rights of Baaz, and given the story link of the book, it makes for a perfect Bollywood entertainer that is high on drama, action, masala and humour.
Though none of the other details are known yet, the rights have been acquired. The book will reportedly be adapted for the big screen and only then will the rest of the details fall into place – which includes the director, the cast. Baaz is the story of a fighter pilot who falls in love with the sister of a fellow fauji, only to question the concept of nationalism.
The Zoya Factor is not the first of Anuja Chauhan’s books which is being adapted into a film. The author’s books have been much sought after by filmmakers, who are battling to buy the rights of her other novels, including Battle for Bittora. Chauhan’s Those Pricey Thakur Girls has also been made into a small screen series.
The Zoya Factor, meanwhile, is slated to release on September 20, 2019. Actors Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan will be seen together in the film. In an interview with GoodTimes, Sonam Kapoor had said that she finds Dulquer Salmaan ‘rather cute’. Watch the interview here –
