Sara Ali Khan took to her Instagram handle to share the news, “I can’t believe my luck”, wrote the actor who’ll soon be seen starring alongside Dhanush in their upcoming film ‘Atrangi Re’.
“It is a very challenging character to play but at the same time it is such a special role that my heart just couldn’t say no to it and I will remember it for the rest of my life,” said actor Akshay Kumar who’ll be seen in a cameo in the film.
Speaking further about his role in the film, the actor was quoted saying, “I will remember it for the rest of my life. My combination with Sara and Dhanush truly makes it true to its title — Atrangi! And I know that Aanand, in his special and simple way of storytelling, will only add magic to it.”
Back in July 2019, Dhanush had stated he will collaborate with the filmmaker soon but hadn’t revealed any details surrounding the project then. This film will mark Dhanush’s third Bollywood venture, after Raanjhanaa and R Balki’s satirical drama, Shamitabh.
Anand L Rai, who will direct the film from a script by National award winner Himanshu Sharma, said “It takes a secure actor like Akshay to do such a role. He has been pushing the envelope and is always up for challenges.”
About his film’s lead actors, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush, the filmmaker said, “Their pairing is quite interesting and exciting. Fans will love the freshness these two will bring on the big screen.” He further described the film as a musical from noted composer A R Rahman and a project that is close to his heart.
Atrangi Re will go on floors on March 1, 2020.
