SS Rajamouli is one of the most successful filmmakers in Telugu cinema, it was on Karan Johar’s recommendation that Alia Bhatt was offered the role of the female lead in Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. The actor immediately grabbed the opportunity to work with one of her “dream directors”. But now, a few things have changed, Alia however remains unfazed. Read through.
Alia Bhatt will indeed be part of the film, but only for a song and a few dialogues. “Alia was very keen to work with Rajamouli. The heroine’s role could have been done by any Telugu actress. It has no substance,” a source tells Subhash K Jha an Indian film critic.
It was further added that the film is about the two heroes, Ramcharan Teja and NTR Jr. “If a Bollywood star of Alia’s stature came on board, it is only natural that the feminine dynamics would improve for the better. They didn’t. Alia is just a prop in RRR,” the source was quoted saying.
Alia Bhatt’s role may get a “guest appearance” tag, but she doesn’t mind. The actor had previously said, “When I came into the movies I had two names on my directors’ wish list, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and SS Rajamouli. I am working with both. What more could I ask for?”
Alia Bhatt will soon be seen starring opposite Salman Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming directorial, while RRR prepares for its release on July 30, 2020.
