According to trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, the film’s initial collections and a strong word of mouth have helped it’s box office returns. Badla has collected 23.30 crores on its opening weekend and is showing steady growth.

The story of a woman convicted for the murder of her lover, Badla is a remake of the Spanish film ‘The Invisible Guest’. Produced by Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Badla also stars Amrita Singh and Malayalam actor Tony Luke in pivotal roles.
In an interview with GoodTimes, Taapsee Pannu admitted that it was she who had convinced Sujoy Ghosh to direct the film. The actress was also candid about the fact that it was her biggest gamble, and also how it was liberating to not be part of a film lineage.
