Actor Anushka Sharma has finally broken her silence through an Instagram post. This comes after former India wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer asserted that he feels Virat Kohli has a “major impact” on selection and on the Team India selectors as well.
We have got a Mickey Mouse selection committee. Virat Kohli has a major impact (in the process) which is very good. But how are the selectors qualified? Between them, have they played about 10-12 Test matches
“I didn’t even know one of the selectors during the World Cup and I asked him who the hell he was, because he was wearing the India blazer and he said he was of the selectors. All they were doing was getting Anushka Sharma cups of tea”, says Farokh Engineer.
Anushka Sharma in a fury has written back. Her Instagram post reads, “I have always been of the opinion that maintaining silence on false and fabricated news and stories against one is the best way to deal with your detractors. This is how I have handled my career for 11 years now. I always saw dignity and truth embedded in the shadow my silence.”
She adds by saying, “I have stayed quiet through all my times I was blamed for the performance of my then boyfriend, now husband Virat and continue to take blame for the most baseless things involving Indian cricket. I kept quite then,”
In a witty remark targeted straight at Farokh Engineer, Anushka Sharma ended the letter by saying “…and for that record, I drink coffee.”
