Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is the sequel of Ayushmann Khurrana-Bhumi Pednekar starrer Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. While the film was earlier slated to release on March 13, it is now headed to theatres on February 21, almost a month prior to its earlier release date. Producer Aanand L. Rai said in a statement, “It’s a complete family film and we want to meet the audience soon. We have now decided to release the film in the month of February, which is also the month of love.”

Bhushan Kumar agreed, “We are interchanging both the release dates of our films – ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ and Anurag Basu’s next. Aanand ji and Anurag both have been very supportive with the change. Both our films are interesting and cater to families across all ages. We are ready to give our audiences a complete adventurous ride with both these films.”

The film’s earlier animated teaser had revealed the concept of homosexuality being central to the film’s plot. This time, therefore, Ayushmann Khurrana will have a male love interest instead of a female one! Actor Jeetendra Kumar will play his love interest in the film. Moreover, Badhaai Ho‘s famous couple Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao will be reprising their role as Ayushmann’s parents in the film. The film is directed by Hitesh Kewalya.
