Ayushmann Khurrana Hopes To Win ‘Best Actress’ Award For His Next Film

Ayushmann Khurrana is extremely proud of his filmography, says the actor himself. He has long been the poster boy of taboo subjects. In the past 7 years of his stretched out career, 4 of his films have won National Awards. Caught in a conversation with GoodTimes, Ayushmann Khurrana reveals how he chooses his films.

“I always go by my gut. Initially, I used to do just one film a year and there was one year when I was not doing anything. So, I will always go by my intuition and my gut. But thankfully, the subjects I am getting these days, they are unbelievable, that’s why I am doing 4-5 back to back films these days, because the scripts I am getting these days are out of the box.” He further adds, it’s a happy marriage between off-centre and commercial films. “I consume my films as an audience member not a star”.

The star, who sincerely believes in the ‘meat’ as he likes to call content while choosing his films, wishes to get nominated for an award in the Best Actress category with his upcoming film, he quips. “I dubbed my entire female portion in my own voice”, shares Ayushmann Khurrana who will be seen donning a female avatar for an adult hotline in his next, Dream Girl.

On August 9, Ayushmann Khurrana was names the Best Actor as the 66th National Film Awards for Andhadhun. Talking about the pressure that comes with being identified as a powerhouse of talent, the actor says “it’s a happy pressure, it gives you more courage.”

Apart from Ayushmann Khurrana Dream Girl also stars Nushrat Bharucha and is all set to release on September 13.
