3. Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor carried on the legacy of his grandfather Raj Kapoor by imitating ‘the tramp’ in two of his films. In Barfi!, Ranbir Kapoor made an attempt at choreographing a comedic-sequence similar to the Chaplin-esque style. Even in his comedy film Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, Ranbir Kapoor played the role of ‘Chalu Chaplin’.

While Ranveer Singh was in Switzerland, he did an entire series of photographs as a tribute to the legend! There were pictures of Ranveer Singh dancing, posing, and just generally being himself in the photo-series but with the angle of Chaplin in them.

Right after his death and burial, two robbers made off with his coffin and demanded a ransom of $600,000 from his wife. The robbers, however, were caught in the act and the coffin restored to its original resting place – this time with a cemented, concrete vault.
