They make us roll with mirth, they get tears spewing out of our eyes, their jokes absolutely never get old, and their situations are filled to the brim with hilarity, and their characters’ funniness is absolutely lovable and endearing. These Bollywood comedy films are films which would never get old – be it whatever day, age, or century. The scripts will continue to be relevant and the movies will continue to make us LOL!

1. Padosan

The epic song battles between Mahmood and Sunil Dutt – they did it before song battles became cool! And made us laugh at the same time. This is one film we can watch any number of times, and still not get bored of it.

2. Hera Pheri

Three broke friends, a lot of debt, a wrong-number, and the consequent kidnapping that ensues – Hera Pheri is a laughter riot and has some really good acting by the lead trio.

3. Golmaal 

The original, from where probably comedy as a genre picked up in Hindi cinema. Who doesn’t know Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt as the hilarious duo in this film?

4. Andaaz Apna Apna

The funniest combination of Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, with the legendary crime-master Gogo! What was initially considered to be a ‘flop’ film, eventually became a super-hit and a comedic cult.

5. Munnabhai MBBS

Endearing as a character, and hilarious as a plot – Munna bhai became a cult figure among all the ‘bhais’ of Mumbai. There were many aping his style and sense of humour, and the film itself became a thumping success!

6. 3 Idiots

The forever new tale of three youngsters in an Engineering college, who are trying to earn a name for themselves in this world. 3 Idiots has got some hilarious scenes and dialogues that are extremely witty and refreshing!

7. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro

A dark satire which comments on everything wrong with the country, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro is surely up there with all the classics when it comes to a good, clean, and epic comedy!

8. Ishq

Be it for the hilarious duo of Juhi Chawla and Aamir Khan, or just the hilarious amount of situational comedy this film has – Ishq surely deserves a place in the comedy hall of fame.

9. Khosla Ka Ghosla

Not the kind of film which would make you roll on the floor laughing, but more of a film with subtle chuckles and secret giggles. Khosla ka Ghosla is about the struggle of a middle-aged man to get the plot of land he has rightfully paid for, from the clutches of property dealers and corruption.

10. Chupke Chupke

Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan together in a single film after Sholay, so it had to be epic! The love triangle, clashes, situational humour, and most of all, the character acting done by Om Prakash made this film absolutely hilarious.
