‘I Embrace The Way I Feel’: Deepika Padukone Reveals How She Battles Depression

When asked what is that one sense of purpose that motivates her after having battled depression, Deepika Padukone let out words of encouragement that leave a powerful effect on the mind.

The actor said she doesn’t fight the way she’s feeling anymore. “I don’t think I fight anything anymore. I don’t think I challenge anything anymore. So, if I feel a certain way, I embrace that. If I want to say something, I’ll say it. If I feel something, I embrace it. I think I have found my peace in that.”

Deepika Padukone likes her things to be in right place and in the right way, however when it comes to her emotions she’s forced herself to not be so particular. “Because I think, you know, with constantly trying to be perfect all the time and everything has to be okay all the time and that is a very large part of my personality, everything has to be streamlined and all of that. But now I am beginning to channelise that more at a day to day level. But I think at an emotional level, I don’t fight anything anymore.”

What I believe in is honesty and authenticity, if that helps anyone.

Deepika Padukone will soon be seen essaying the role of an acid attack survivor in her upcoming film Chhapaak. Watch her full interview, below.
