Deepika, who is playing the role of an acid attack survivor in her next film, released her look as ‘Malti’ to mark the beginning of the project. ‘Chhapaak’ is being directed by Meghna Gulzar, and will have Vikrant Massey paired opposite Deepika.
The film’s plot is loosely based on the life of real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, who now hosts her very own television show and actively campaigns for the same cause. The cast and crew of the film had held a joint reading session of the script, recently, about which Meghna Gulzar had also tweeted; saying, ‘a team that reads together…’
