Be it an offbeat film plot, or Ayushmann Khurrana talking in effeminate tones -Team ‘Dream Girl‘ has consistently had something new to offer to its audience. And after the release of two songs, there’s a third which is heading our way, this Ganesh Chaturthi, and it’s going to be something special to remember.
The Marathi song Dhagala Lagli Kala will be remixed and recreated for Dream Girl. Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha will be seen dancing to the peppy beats of the song. The timing of the song will be perfect, as it is slated to release on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi this year. Director Raaj Shandilyaa spoke about the song –
Dhagala Lagli Kala is a classic, iconic song and we have danced to its tune for years. It is peppy, groovy and compels you to shake a leg. It was Ekta’s (Kapoor, producer) idea to recreate this popular foot-tapping number with the Ganpati festival being around the corner. We loved the idea, and feel that as a promotional track, it will widen the scope of the film beyond communities. Our first song, Radhe Radhe, celebrates the spirit of Janmashtami and this one releasing during Ganeshotsav will pump up the festivities.
Director Raaj Shandilyaa believes it will soon become the most loved song for the festival, which is big in the Mumbai circuit.
The song has a different vibe and it’s got amazing Marathi parts, which has a rap-like melody that we have sung ourselves. It has got amazing catchy Marathi beats and we have also added some live guitars as well as electronic programs around it. It has ‘let’s dance’ written all over it. And I think this will be the biggest welcome for Ganesh Chaturthi in terms of music.
The film sees Ayushmann Khurrana essaying the role of a man, who runs a hotline by the name of Pooja and seduces clients with the same name. Dream Girl releases on September 13.
