The ‘Dostana 2’ trio is finally complete! Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor are joined by debutant – Lakshya. The actor is the latest addition to the ‘Dharma’ family, and was introduced by Karan Johar on his Instagram profile-
“Both happy and excited to introduce the new kid on the Dharma block! LAKSHYA will be making his debut with us in #Dostana2 and from thereon, we hope to start a solid cinematic journey together! Please welcome Lakshya and shower him with all your love and blessings,” wrote Karan Johar. He directed his followers to the official Instagram profile of Lakshya, who does not have a last name on the official handle. This caused Karan Johar’s followers to ask him about the same – and whether he was yet another star kid with strong familial ties to the film industry. Karan Johar then took to Twitter to clarify that Lakshya was, in fact, not from the industry.

As a few naysayers speculated that Lakshya came with industry connections as well, the filmmaker clarified that the actor went through a rigorous and ‘legit’ auditioning process to sign the deal with Dharma.
This is not, however, Lakshay’s first outing as an actor, as he was seen earlier on the television screen as lead actor in a historical drama series called Porus. However, Dostana 2 will be his big film debut with Dharma Movies. The actor has reportedly signed a four film deal with the production banner, Dostana 2 being the first of them. His films will include digital projects as well.

Dostana 2 is directed by Collin D’Cunha, and stars Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. The film is the second instalment in the Dostana franchise, the first of which released in 2008 and had Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, and Abhishek Bachchan as the lead trio.
