Farhan Akhtar Begins Shooting For Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Toofan’

After a long period of intense preparation, Farhan Akhtar has finally begun shooting for ‘Toofan’! Farhan took to Instagram to share a pic of the clapper box from Day 1 of the shoot of the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial.

“Day 1. #ToofanInTheMaking #nerves #excitement #cinemagic #lovemyjob” wrote Farhan while sharing the picture. The post got a flurry of excitement going on the social media platform, as comments poured in from all directions. Siddhant Chaturvedi, who made his debut with the Excel Entertainment produced Gully Boy also commented on the picture, saying, “I am already TooFAN!” Actor Cyrus Sahukar also wished the actor best of luck for the film.

Farhan Akhtar will be seen playing a boxer in the upcoming Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial, which will be an out-and-out sports drama. The actor had been undergoing an intense workout in the form of a hectic training schedule, and had regularly shared videos and pictures of the same on his Instagram profile. Farhan had also shared a click from what seemed to be a photograph from a Puja on the shoot location that the film’s cast and crew were a part of. The ceremony took place on the auspicious day of Janmashtami, and director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra was seen in the picture.

Toofan marks the second time that actor Farhan Akhtar and director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra are collaborating. Their previous collaboration Bhaag Milkha Bhaag released in 2013, 6 years ago. The film was based on the life of ace Indian sprinter Milkha Singh. It crossed an easy Rs. 100 crores at the box office, and was appreciated by audiences as well as film critics.
