‘Fukrey’ Gang Gets Animated Into A Series, ‘Bholi Punjaban’ Shares Her Avatar

The all-boys film with a female villain that won many hearts, ‘Fukrey’, is all set to bring an animated version, ‘Fukrey Boyzzz’, in 6 languages – English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The series will premiere on October 12.

Richa Chadha aka Bholi Punjaban from the franchise took to her social media handle to share, “Never knew that Bholi Punjaban will look so cute in this avatar”. Her Instagram post revealed her adorable yet mischievous animated self.

The 2003 release, Fukrey, was produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, the franchise narrates the story of a comical troop of friends, Hunny, Choocha, Laali, and Zafar. Its sequel Fukrey Returns came out in 2017 and its third part is in the conduit of happening.

“For the first time ever, Excel Entertainment will be extending itself to developing content for kids with ‘Fukrey Boyzzz’. This is a huge step forward for us and brings with it, its own sense of accomplishment,” said, Ritesh Sidhwani, Co-Founder of Excel Entertainment.

“The nuances of Kids TV are very different from that of cinema; it requires adapting characters, their scenarios in a different yet relatable setting. However, the good part is that the plot and characters of the movie ”Fukrey” lend themselves beautifully to interpretation in animation. ‘Fukrey Boyzzz’ will take you on an endless laugh riot,” he adds.
