Dear Varun Dhawan, “Ye Dil Maange More…”
Varun Dhawan’s filmography consists of roughly 16 films over a span of 10 years. He began his career with “Student Of The Year”, directed by Karan Johar. Post the success of the film, he was seen in his father’s directorial venture, Main Tera Hero, which established his career as a leading male actor.

But unfortunately, after Main Tera Hero, Varun started getting typecasted as the boy next door through films like, Dishoom, Judwaa 2, and Coolie No 1, to name a few. Most of the time he was doing films that were either directed by his father David Dhawan or produced by Karan Johar.

Though with films like Badlapur and October, Varun Dhawan proved to us that he is more than just “the boy next door”. In Badlapur, he played the role of a father and husband hell bent on avenging his family’s death and in October, he played a hotel intern whose life turns upside down when a fellow employee encounters an accident just after she asks about his whereabouts. With these two films, Varun proved that he could ace serious roles and roles that require an emotional approach, rather than his usual rom-com avatars. The actor took up a challenge of transforming himself from playing a lover boy in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Main Tera Hero and Student Of The Year to playing an emotionally driven character in Badlapur and October. And honestly, it was a treat to watch Varun playing dark characters.

With Bhediya, it seems like Varun is making a conscious effort to experiment with his roles. Hopefully, we will get to see a new Varun Dhawan who is not just a pretty face, but also a versatile actor, who has come a long way.
