‘If There Was No The Lord Of The Rings, There Would Be No Krrish’: Hrithik Roshan
Fellowship arise…it’s time to head into the heroic legends of the Second Age of The Middle Earth of JRR Tolkien’s fantasy universe. The cast and crew of Amazon Studio’s much anticipated prequel series ‘Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’ arrived in Mumbai for its grand Asia Pacific premiere on Thursday (18th August).
Kickstarting the promotional event for the series were actors Tamannaah Bhatia and Hrithik Roshan who welcomed the eleven member squad lead by screen writer and show runner JD Payne.
The actor revealed that not only was he a fan of Lord Of The Rings Trilogy but the franchise had also influenced his mega hit super hero flick Krrish. The actor recounted an anecdote how his filmmaker father, Rakesh Roshan, sat down and binged watched Peter Jackson’s epic adaptation and progression of JRR Tolkien’s fantastical world.
“In 2004, a year after ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, my father put on the ‘Lord of the Rings’ part 1…he saw the film…he enjoyed it so much that he watched one film after another. After finishing all the parts, he gave me a call and started talking about the trilogy. He was like, why can’t we do that? And that was the birth of Krrish. So if there was no Lord of the Rings, there wouldn’t have been any Krrish.” said the actor. Krrish 2 and Krrish 3 released in 2006 and 2013 and in 2021 the actor has teased that Krrish 4 is in the works.
