It’s been the year of so many surprises, great cinema, and awesome content! And this is proved by the IMDb list of 2018’s Top 10 Stars of Indian Cinema. The list is derived using data from ratings and user surveys from 250 million monthly visitors of the IMDb site, and the opinion is unanimous – Deepika Padukone is #1!

It’s a surprise, but a pleasant one that the Padmaavat actress is topping the list. Deepika Padukone jumped to the top position once the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial came in the eye of much controversy, and then finally hit the theatres. She has toppled everyone that was possibly anticipated to be on the list. Closely following in at No.2 is Shah Rukh Khan, followed by Aamir Khan at No.3.
The list also had some new entrants, which shows how audiences and movie-goers are gravitating towards original, and low-budget content. Radhika Apte was one of them, at No. 9. She was further beaten by Irrfan Khan at No. 8, and Kubbra Sait was also ahead of Radhika at No. 7.
But the one who’s at No. 10 is the most shocking! And it is none other than Akshay Kumar. This is the real revelation of the list, the fact that after completing 3 blockbuster films at the box office, Akshay Kumar is still just at No. 10!
