Ali Abbas Zafar is all set to turn producer for a love story based in Mumbai. He had signed on ‘Dhadak’ star Ishaan Khatter for the same, and now reports suggest he may be roping in Ananya Panday to play the leading lady!

The story of the film is currently under wraps, but it is going to be a fresh take in the romantic genre. A source revealed to a leading entertainment portal that Ali Abbas Zafar feels that this is the best subject and genre for his maiden production venture. Being a writer himself, he is thoroughly involved in the scripting process, and feels that Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday will do justice to it. The source said –
Since the Maximum City-centric film is a fresh take on the romantic genre and revolves around young people, Ali was keen to cast actors who are a big draw with youngsters. Both Ishaan and Ananya have impressed with their first films but have not worked together so it’s a new jodi as well.
Ali Abbas Zafar’s untitled production goes on floors by end of this year. He is also expected to announce the third installment of the Tiger Zinda Hai franchise with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, soon.

Ishaan Khatter had debuted last year with Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds. He was also seen in Sairat’s Hindi remake, Dhadak alongside debutante Janhvi Kapoor. Ananya Panday debuted with Puneet Malhotra’s Student Of The Year, and is working alongside Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar in the remake of Pati Patni Aur Woh. The film is currently being shot in Lucknow.
