Janhvi Kapoor Was The First Choice For ‘Liger’ Not Ananya Panday: Director Puri Jagannadh

During a promotional interview, Liger director Puri Jagannadh revealed that Janhvi Kapoor was his first choice to play the lead opposite Vijay Deverakonda in the film.

The director told the media, “I am a big fan of Sridevi ji, so I wanted to cast Janhvi Kapoor, but her dates were not available.”

Later, when Puri approached Karan Johar for advice on the film’s leading lady he gave Ananya Panday’s name.

Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya will play the key parts in the film Liger, which will release in theatres on August 25.

The film will release in several other languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
