John Abraham had earlier shared a video of himself prepping for the film in his own way. The actor’s recent action flick Batla House had also released on Independence Day this year. Talking about his next film Attack, the actor says that he chose the Independence Day release date for various reasons.
Attack rolls on January 4 and opens on August 14. I’ve come to believe that the day belongs to me, not just because it’s a national holiday but also for the feelings it brings forth.
Touted to be ‘a hostage crisis’, the film apparently is a ‘race against time’ that will bring a nation on its knees. The film is inspired by true events and John Abraham says it’s an appropriate Independence Day release.
Attack is an apt Independence Day release, patriotic without being jingoistic. It will be directed by Lakshya Anand, who assisted Kabir Khan on New York and Ek Tha Tiger, and Siddharth Anand on Bang Bang.
