Karisma Kapoor is all set to make her digital debut! The actress will be seen playing on-screen mother in a series titled ‘MentalHood’. The series is on the crazy ride that motherhood is, and will showcase Karisma as a small town-mom navigating through the landscape of mummy-dom. The actress shared a post about her debut –
“A small town mom trying to navigate through this jungle of Mumbai mom-zillas. She knows parenting is about the right balance… it’s the finding of that balance that’s the tricky part,” read the caption of Karisma on the series. She even shared her thoughts about debuting in the digital space in a statement.
When I heard this script it was so interesting, the script was about today’s mother and it was so strong. Women of all ages and all those who are mothers will identify with my characters. It is also something which I am going through right now.
Karisma Kapoor was welcomed on board by the producer of the series, Ekta Ravi Kapoor. Ekta Kapoor took to Twitter to say that Karisma Kapoor was her first and only choice for Mentalhood, and it took several meetings to get the ‘perfectionist’ on board for the film. The show is currently being shot in Mumbai. It is being directed by Karishma Kohli. Others to join on-board for the project include Shruti Seth, Shilpa Shukla, Dino Morea, and Sandhya Mridul. Mentalhood releases in the later half of 2019.
