#1MonthOfKabirSingh Every time I have tried to put down my feelings on Kabir Singh I don’t know where to begin, this attempt will not do justice either, to how truly grateful I am, to my team, and the audience for making our film what it has become today. A year ago I stepped into the shoes of Preeti, shy, demure, and basically the complete opposite of me. But I also saw her strength, conviction, her love and her passion and couldn’t help but feel for the love story that you all rooted for with me.. Kabir, aka @shahidkapoor my costar, confidant and friend through this journey who completed and made this story so real and believable. Already missing your craziness mama, couldn’t have been luckier to work together on this special film❤️ Sandeep Sir, the OG! His conviction to stay true to his story and make it so unapologetically, his passion for films, his craziness and honesty gave us the opportunity to play characters that were flawed, imperfect and so real that you can’t stop yourself from feeling for them. Our amazing producers @ashwinvarde @muradkhetani @its_bhushankumar @@tseries.official for making this gem of a film! @santha_dop my incredible dop for capturing every moment of this love story so beautifully. To all our singers and musicians @sachettandonofficial @paramparathakurofficial @arijitsingh @armaanmalik @amaal_mallik @tulsikumar15 @sachdevaakhilnasha @vishalmishraofficial Thankyou for creating a soundtrack that became an anthem and the heartbeat of the film! She further talked about her character Preeti in the film, who according to Kiara is the exact opposite of what she is in real life. She then thanked her co-star Shahid Kapoor for being her confidant and friend, along with an amazing co-star. “Couldn’t have been luckier to work together on this special film,” was what Kiara wrote in the post. Kiara also thanked director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, for his conviction to ‘stay true to his story’ and ‘make it so unapologetically’. She said that his passion for films gave the opportunity to play flawed, imperfect characters that were so real.

Shahid Kapoor commented on Kiara Advani’s post saying that this award-winning speech also deserved an award! Kabir Singh has shattered all box office records for the year 2019, so far – displacing 2019’s previous highest grosser Uri. Kabir Singh is on its way and has crossed Rs. 275 crores at the box office within a month of its release. Shahid Kapoor had shared a post earlier on his Instagram account too –

Your love is so overwhelming words will always fall short. Thank you for understanding him forgiving him and loving him with all your heart. We all fall apart. And we all must strive to rise from our faults. To be better. To be wiser. To be kinder. He is flawed. So are we all. You didn’t judge him you experienced him. You understood him. I have never ever felt so thankful. The most flawed character I have ever played. Has become my most loved. Indeed indian cinema and the audience has come a long way. More power to brave choices. More power to you all for your maturity and humanness. You have given me wings to fly. To not only be burdened by the need to be loved to be a star but to have the courage to be hated in equal measure to be an actor. Here’s to cinema mirroring life. To protagonists who don’t have to be restricted by their goodness and can be human and imperfect. There is perfection in imperfection and that is the beauty and the challenge of this human life. Thank you. Again and again. You all are the heroes of this story.

Shahid Kapoor had thanked his fans, saying that it was important that audiences understood the ‘most flawed character’ he has played till date and forgave the faults that he had. He further emphasized that the audience is the one who is the real hero of Kabir Singh; they were the ones who liked him as a protagonist who wasn’t restricted by ‘goodness’ and could be ‘human’ and ‘imperfect’.

Kabir Singh had come under the radar for its alleged ‘misogynistic’ content, and the comments of the director Sandeep Reddy Vanga of the same nature. Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter had also posted the same on his profile, defending his half-brother at a time when Kabir Singh was facing flak.

“I’m as in awe as can be, I hope one day I can make you as proud and happy as you make me bhai,” wrote Ishaan Khatter.
