It’s been a field day at the box office for ‘Batla House’ and ‘Mission Mangal’ – both the films released on the same day, that is, August 15.
Batla House, which stars John Abraham in the lead role, has had a healthy weekend and even gathered momentum on Day 3 and 4. The film opened to a figure of Rs. 15.55 crores, leading up to a formidable total of Rs. 47.99 crores up to today. Batla House is steadily approaching the 50 crore mark. The film showed substantial growth on Day 3, and has grown solely on the basis of appreciation and worth of mouth. Batla House has grown in spite of facing stiff competition from Mission Mangal.

Coming to Mission Mangal – looks like the Akshay Kumar film has done great numbers at the box office! The film has already collected a total of Rs. 97.56 crores, and will touch the magical Rs. 100 crore number on the fifth day after its release. Mission Mangal is Akshay Kumar’s highest opener till today, beating his earlier releases such as 2.0 and Kesari. The film will probably be the fastest to reach Rs. 100 crores in Akshay Kumar’s filmography.
This picture made my day…this was the motive behind making the the film, to inspire more kids and develop an interest in science. This is real success for me, not the box office numbers. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ https://t.co/YlsRhUM70R

Mission Mangal, which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan, Kirti Kulhari, Sonakshi Sinha, Nithya Menen, and Sharman Joshi has surprised everyone with the numbers it has garnered at the box office. Akshay Kumar tweeted as well, sharing a picture of an 8-year-old fan who drew something after watching the film. The actor said that this was the motive behind making the film, to inspire more kids and develop an interest in science. Akshay said this was what was real success for him, and not the box office numbers!
