The trailer of Viacom 18’s ‘Thackeray’ is out, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s resemblance to Balasaheb Thackeray – the founder of Indian political party – Shiv Sena, is uncanny.
The biographical drama film is based on the life of the politician, who went from being a cartoonist in an English daily to owning his own political weekly to founding one of the most influential parties in Maharashtra. Actress Amrita Rao will be seen playing Bal Thackeray’s wife, Meena Tai.
Written by Shiv Sena politician Sanjay Raut and directed by Abhijit Panse, the film is scheduled to release on January 25, 2019.
