‘Everything That I Am Today Or Am Doing In America, I Learnt In India’, Says Priyanka Chopra

“Everything that I am today or am doing in America, I learnt in India. I’m just showing a perspective of it,” Priyanka Chopra told a popular fashion magazine.

“I didn’t know anything or anyone. I was yelled at by directors, I was thrown into movies, I was thrown out of movies.” On her dad’s advice — “the more you talk, the less you will listen and the less you will learn” — she shut up and listened. “I taught myself confidence. I learnt it’s what you do after failure that makes you a success,” she adds as she shares her dad’s advice.

The actor-producer-style icon who enjoys television & on her days off reveals “I just love the straight-faced comedy and really admire Mindy Kaling as a writer”, as she continues to binge-watch ‘The Office.’ The duo will be seen working together.

In April, Priyanka Chopra and Mindy Kaling’s pitch for a wedding comedy was picked up by Universal Pictures. Not only will the two be seen co-starring, they will also be co-writing with Dan Goor. “The story basically came from my wedding, where a bunch of Americans were exposed to this grandiose palace – the food, the family, the culture, the clothes and the comedy that comes with it,” she says as she spills the beans. The project will have an all-South Asian star cast adds Priyanka Chopra who wishes to see a revolution around South Asian representation in Hollywood.
