Raveena Tandon Slams Zaira Wasim’s Decision To Quit Bollywood, Calls Her ‘Regressive’

Recently, ‘Dangal’ actor Zaira Wasim announced her “disassociation” from her career. Zaira declared how her line of work does not keep her happy and interferes with her faith and religion. While fans empathised and also slapped comments, Raveena Tandon slammed Zaira Wasim in an indirect jibe.

Without naming Zaira in her tweet, Raveena said, “Doesn’t matter if two film olds are ungrateful to the industry that have given them all. Just wish they’d exit gracefully and keep their regressive views to themselves.”

In another tweet clarifying that she understands it’s Wasim’s personal decision, Raveena wrote, “I standby and love my industry, all the opportunities it gives to everyone. Exit is your choice, reason,by all means.Just do not demean it for everyone else. The industry where all work shoulder to shoulder,no differences, caste, religion or where you come from. #Respect #indianfilms.”

The young actress’ decision led to mixed reactions on social media. While some lauded her for choosing the ‘straight path’, others questioned her on making it all public.

Howrver, hours later Raveena changed her stance. Raveena wrote that she respects Wasim’s decision to quit Bollywood, announce the same to he fans. ‘It’s her life, her choice’. She further added that it ‘would’ve been more graceful if she had not condemned all as the reason for doing so. Discovering spirituality is beautiful, but don’t demean others.’

On the work front, Zaira Wasim will be seen in Priyanka Chopra starter The Sky Is Pink, slated to release on October 11, 2019.
