Rishi Kapoor’s family organised a private prayer meeting for the late actor on Sunday, May 3. The ‘chautha’, like his cremation did not see too many people in attendance, owing to the nationwide lockdown in the wake of the novel coronavirus, that has impacted movement majorly.
A picture of Rishi Kapoor’s son Ranbir and wife Neetu sitting on either sides of a picture of the actor began doing the rounds soon after the prayer meeting. While the family had issued a statement regarding Rishi Kapoor’s demise on the same day as it happened, April 30, his wife Neetu Kapoor, posted a picture of him with the caption, ‘End of our story’, on May 2.
Rishi Kapoor’s daughter, Riddhima Kapoor, who lives in Delhi, could not make it to the actor’s last rites, as she did not manage to get clearance to fly to Mumbai. Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra co-star and girlfriend, Alia Bhatt, who is very close to the Kapoor family, was seen holding her phone during the last rites as she was on a video call with Riddhima, making her a part of everything, virtually.
Riddhima, however, drove to Mumbai all the way from Delhi, and finally united with her family on the night of May 2, just in time for the prayer meeting.
