Reportedly, the filmmakers are looking for a female lead close to Hrithik’s age. The actress needs to match Hema Malini’s personality, which rules out our younger heroines. According to a source, Katrina is Farah’s choice while Rohit prefers Deepika. “Most actresses are very close to Farah, including Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Huma Qureshi, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone. Kareena Kapoor Khan would have been a great for the role – being a fabulous actress and having the emotional depths to portray such a role but she and Hrithik may not work together.”
In an interview with a leading daily, Shakti Kapoor who played the role of Mangal in the 1982 Ramesh Sippy directorial, expressed his desire of seeing his son in the role he did three decades ago. “I would like to see Siddhanth essay the role I played in the cult film,” the actor said, adding, “No one can play that character better than him. But I don’t know. It’s up to Farah and Rohit.”
It was in February, the two took to Twitter to announce the project that also marks their first collaboration together. Farah has recently finished writing the film and fans can’t wait for the cast to be announced.
