“She is doing her acting workshops, her dance classes and other things that you need to do before you take it up as a career,” revealed Sanjay Kapoor in a candid chat. Does he think she has it easy as a star kid, vis-a-vis other newcomers in Bollywood? Daddy Sanjay Kapoor disagrees, “She might be from a film family and connections are easy but sustaining won’t be easy. It’s very tough to survive in this industry.”
The insider’s edge that Sanjay Kapoor has in the industry is the reason why he pushed his daughter Shanaya towards being an assisting director first.
I know it really well which is also why I made her go through this process of assisting. All the glamour is only an exterior thought, inside, it’s a lot of hard work.
Amidst all of this, there were certain rumours doing the rounds that Shanaya Kapoor will also be making her debut in a Karan Johar film, just like her cousin sister Janhvi Kapoor did. However, Sanjay Kapoor says there is no truth to the rumours, whatsoever. “She’s just assisting on his production venture. She has not taken a call on anything yet,” said the actor.
So is she planning a career in Bollywood or not? “Yes, she’s definitely getting ready for a Bollywood career. Hopefully soon, she must work hard and land a good film. We will all wait for that,” concluded Sanjay Kapoor.
