Shraddha Kapoor Says She Is Happy To Play A Cop In ‘Saaho’

Shraddha Kapoor is all set to make her big South debut with ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas. Ahead of her multilingual action thriller’s release, the actress talked about playing the role of a cop for the first time!

Shraddha Kapoor was out and about promoting Saaho, and in one such interview she was questioned about her role as a cop. The actress was asked about the fact that many of her male counterparts in the industry are playing cops in their films, while the same trend cannot be seen with the female actresses. Shraddha responded to the question talking about how Priyanka Chopra has played a cop earlier on screen.

Yes, that’s true, but I feel that things are changing now. Priyanka is among the few actresses, who have played a cop before, and now I am doing it. Of course, everyone from character actors like Iftikhar and Jagdish Raj to mainstream actors like Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh have played police officers and have been accepted in different cop avatars. But, women are getting there, too. I was happy that the director envisioned me to play a crime branch officer.
