Kiara Advani who was seen as an extremely submissive’Preethi’ in Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Kabir Singh’ now appears as a rebellious ‘Nanki’ in ‘Guilty’. When asked about how different it was getting into her recent character sketch vis-à-vis the role everybody talked about, here’s what the actor had to say.
”To be honest, they were both equally challenging but Nanki, it is was much more complex. Very difficult, not just physically. Yes, physically she has a certain look to her that was again new for me to kind of get into but I think the interior part of it, the fragility, for someone who on one end is, thinks rather, is a badass, rebellious girl. And she is rebellious because she’s actually fighting a lot of inner things that are happening.”
Kiara Advani continues to say, “So I am kind of exploring that. This character, with a subject like that this, when you don’t know the truth. You’re fighting between both the truths you’ve heard and figuring you’re own truth in there. There’s a lot going on. It was liberating, coming out of one character and getting into another.”
Starring Kiara Advani as Nanki, the movie tells the story of a girl whose boyfriend (Gurfateh Singh Pirzada) has been accused of rape by a girl in their college, played by Akanksha Ranjan Kapoor.
Kiara Advani believes this character is the most challenging role of her career, for which she even reached out to rape survivors to get a better perspective and understanding.
