India was heartbroken on June 14, when news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death came out. The 34-year-old actor died by suicide at his residence in Bandra. Reports now suggest that Sushant’s sister-in-law Sudha Devi also passed away in Bihar at around the same time when his last rites were being performed in Mumbai on Monday.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s cousin brother’s wife, Sudha Devi, passed away in Sushant’s native district, Purnia in Bihar, after reportedly being ‘unable to cope with her brother-in-law’s demise’. She was suffering from liver cancer and had reportedly stopped eating after she had received this appalling news, and died on Monday around the same time as when his funeral at Mumbai’s Vile Parle.
Some of Sushant’s close friends, Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Mukesh Chhabra and Kriti Sanon among others, attended his funeral and paid their respects to the actor.
The actor’s family had released a statement after his death, saying, “It pains us to share that Sushant Singh Rajput is no longer with us. We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life and his work like they have done so far.”
For many of his fans, the loss of the actor almost feels like a personal loss.
