Known for never mincing her words, ‘Veere Di Wedding’ actress Swara Bhaskar recently opened up on how she tackles social media trolls, and the one change she wants to see in the media.
In an exclusive interview to GoodTimes, Swara shared that while she did get affected by trolls in the past, she has learnt how to deal with them with time. In fact, she now even recognises some of these troll handles, and wonders where they’ve been when she doesn’t hear from them in a while.
Just don’t give a four letter word about them. Ignore them. They are pathetic losers who are hungry for attention, who probably don’t have a life. On a good day, when you’re feeling generous, pity them. On a day you’re not feeling too generous, just give it back to them. On other days, just ignore them.
On being asked about the one change she would like to see in the fraternity, Swara spoke about how certain entertainment publications write headlines to sensationalize news, especially about women – and that she would like for that to change.
Speaking of her career plans, Swara said that she is now turning producer, and that she is already in the process of producing her first film – a biopic on con-woman Krishna Sen, who pretended to be a man and married at least two women, in order to receive dowry.
After Nil Battey Sannata, Anaarkali of Aarah and Veere Di Wedding, I don’t know how to top such a list of films. So I’ve been unable to sign any new ones. Instead I decided to turn producer.
Swara started the production house – Kahaaniwaley Entertainment – with her brother Ishaan in January this year, and will be playing the lead role in the above mentioned biopic.
