After a ‘mangal’ outing at the box office, the actor is all set to hit the bull’s eye with her upcoming ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ and launch into people’s hearts yet again with Rashmi Rocket. For the haters, there’s ‘Thappad’.
It’s not about competition for Taapsee Pannu, the actor is more worried about her ‘experiment’. She says, “I am more worried about this experiment that I have done with my own choice and filmography, playing someone who is more than double age. Having no idea of holding a gun, I am so bad with aiming sports. Everything is anti or opposite to Taapsee in real. Their lives are very opposite of Taapsee. Everything is a risk for me.”
The film, Saand Ki Aankh, is based upon the real-life story of Chandro ‘Shooter Dadi’ Tomar and her sister-in-law, Prakashi Tomar, who took up shooting well in their 60s and went on to became accomplished shooters.
“It’s the most challenging role of my career”, she adds.
Taapsee Pannu will begin shooting for Rashmi Rocket in January 2019. She likes to call this film her ‘passion’, ‘ambitious’ project which will release ‘end of the year, next year’ in 2020. The actor in a conversation with GoodTimes reveals “I heard the story 6, 7 months back and it’s been playing in my head so frequently since then. I have been there in the film ever since the idea came in place, so it’s one of those films where you’re associated even before the script was in place. So it’s extremely close to my heart.”
“She’s a sprinter from Kuchch and it’s a crazy story”, Taapsee goes on to say about Rashmi Rocket. “It’s not going to be a regular sports biopic, where you see the underdog in a uprise and all that. This is not a biopic, it’s a depiction of a true story.” The film is about incidents that have happened with a lot of athletes says the actor. “It’s not a regular rags to riches story”.
Apart from Saand Ki Aankh and Rashmi Rocket, Thappad is also an upcoming Taapsee Pannu film.
