2018 saw Sriram Raghavan give us a thrilling murder mystery in the form of his film ‘Andhadhun’, and just as we are about to end 2019, another film of the same genre has been announced! Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey plan to work together for the first time ever in a murder mystery titled ‘Haseen Dilruba’.
The film is being jointly produced by Aanand L. Rai and Eros International, and Himanshu Sharma. It is being helmed by Hasee Toh Phasee director Vinil Matthew. Kanika Dhillon, who has previously written scripts like Manmarziyaan and Judgemental Hai Kya, will be penning the story for this film as well. Talking about the film, Aanand L. Rai said in a statement-
Haseen Dillruba is a murder mystery within a twisted love story, a genre we have not explored before. Really looking forward to entertain and engage the audience with this edgy script.
Producer Himanshu Sharma described the film as an ‘edge-of-the-seat entertainer’, saying that Kanika and Vinil are working towards bringing something very exciting and thrilling for audiences. Sunil Lulla, Managing Director of Eros International, said, “Unlike other thriller genres, Haseen Dillruba is not just edgy. It’s a perfect blend of entertainment and something which will cater to larger masses. I am glad to be associated with this film.”
The official poster of the film was also released, with a sari-clad woman standing atop a pool of blood and a dagger. Haseen Dilruba is slated to hit theatres on September 19, 2020.
