If you’re planning to watch ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, be prepared to learn a few lessons about Marathi culture. The film, rich in Marathi traditions, starring Ajay Devgn, wife Kajol and actor Saif Ali Khan among others is slated to release next year, but the makers have treated fans with a new song from the film. Check it out!
The video of the song opens with Kajol sitting on Ajay Devgn’s lap as he gazes at the night sky. Ajay is taken by surprise and asks Kajol, ‘Ye kay ahe?’ Kajol then responds, ‘Maa Bhavani bhagwan Shankar ke god me baithe toh sahi aur mai apne pati ki god me baithu toh galat?’. Their conversation urges to think – our society religiously worships female figures but we tend to ignore the sentiments of women in our lives.
They can then be seen in a large gathering, where Kajol, alongside other women, is worshiping their idol Maa Bhavani as they celebrate what look like the Shimgo festival, which is celebrated in Konkani communities and marks the arrival of the goddess ahead of Holi.
