The Release Date For Madhuri Dixit & Her Hubby’s Upcoming Film Is Out

Digital platforms have stood testimony to the fact that series and films that are made in regional dialects and based on small cities and tier-two cities do exceedingly well. After the success of one such regional film, titled ‘Firebrand’, on Netflix, another Marathi original is being produced by Madhuri Dixit-Nene and her husband Dr Shriram Nene.

Touted to be a slice-of-life film, it delves into the struggles of the urban-Indian middle class and what the feelings of love, independence, and affection mean to the people. The film is set in a chawl in Mumbai, and traces a single day of mishaps that happen for the unfurling of the Indian flag on the occasion of Independence Day in the chawl. Madhuri Dixit took to Twitter to announce the news and share the film’s trailer-

“There’s always been a part of me that wanted to create and back meaningful films, and there couldn’t be a better starting point for me than 15 August. This is an endearing, relatable story that has been brought to life beautifully by the talented Swapnaneel Jayakar and actors Rahul Pethe, Mrunmayee Deshpande, and Adinath Kothare,” said Madhuri Dixit on donning the hat of a producer for the film.

This is also not Madhuri’s first tryst with the platform, as she has earlier lent her voice to the character of Nala in the film Mowgli, which was also a Netflix original. The actress has also worked in a Marathi original film earlier, titled Bucket List. This is, however, the first time she has turned producer for a film!

The film, which is a Netflix original, will be releasing on March 29, 2019.
