The talented Vaani Kapoor is all set to share screen-space with Ranbir Kapoor in the upcoming action-adventure ‘Shamshera’, that’s being directed by Karan Malhotra. Vaani has played many fun and bold characters in the past, and this time she is playing a graceful dancer from India.
Vaani has some exemplary dance moves and has even proved the same with her performances in her previous films, however, this time Vaani’s going to be stepping out of her comfort zone and will be required to learn various Indian dance forms. She needs to be extremely deft in various classical dance forms for film.
Vaani has been training in Kathak for months now, and has been working really hard on her skills by practicing for hours.
Since ‘Shamshera’ is set in a particular time, the dance sequences requires me to have a very Indian, very classical body language, which is why I started taking kathak classes to learn the nuances and the grace. Karan specifically wanted me to adapt to a more traditional Indian dance form and break from the western style to do justice to the choreography that is being set for me.
The YRF film is expected to have some astounding action, and Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in a very different look. The film also has Sanjay Dutt, who plays an arch rival against Ranbir in the film. Watch the teaser of the film here –
