“Will Never Fall Into Rut Of Norm To Become The Leading Lady”- Bhumi Pednekar
From making her debut as an overweight girl in Ayushmann Khuranna starrer ‘Dum Lagake Haisha’ to doing films based on social message like ‘Toilet Ek Premkatha’, ‘Badhai Do’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Sawdhan’ to playing an old aged woman in ‘Saand Ki Ankh’, Bhumi Pednekar is one of the finest actors of the Indian film industry who is known for breaking stereotypes and preset notions.
The actor has relentlessly proven her talent and potential with unconventional roles and versatile projects.

During a recent interview when Bhumi Pednekar was asked about her choice of films and scripts, she said, ““I will never fall into the rut of following the norm to be a leading lady in this industry. I am aware that I’m a deviation from the rule as to how leading ladies have been on screen and I love that. People will only remember me for the work that I do on screen. So, it is very important for me to pick the films that I feel in my gut is trying to say something new or aiming to do something extremely disruptive.”
She further explained and said, ““For me, the script is the only thing that matters when it comes to choosing a film. It is the age of content and artists can only shine their best when backed by the best scripts. I have never compromised on the quality of the script and the role that I’m playing and that will continue to be the only thing that matters.”

She said that she has never said yes to a film just by looking at it’s cast as her script of the project plays a very important role. She explained her filmography and said, “If you look at my filmography since my debut, you will see me choosing scripts and roles that stand out before anything else like who is making it, who is cast in it, etc. I’m only seeking out the best projects because the films I do will be my legacy.”
The actor will soon be seen starring alongside Arjun Kapoor in Ajay Bhal’s upcoming film ‘The Ladykiller’ that follows the story of a small-town boy.
