Trouble Is In The Air As Vikas Bhal Sues Anurag Kashyap And Vikramaditya Motwane

Trouble seems to be brewing between one time Phantom Films trio of  Anurag Kashyap , Vikramaditya Motwane and Vikas Bhal.

Vikas Bhal, who currently stands accused of sexually harassing a former colleague at Phantom films, has now sent legal notices to his former partners Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, accusing them of staging a campaign against him and making him the “scapegoat” in the disbandment of Phantom films.

According to reports by a Mumbai Daily, Bahl has sent legal notices to his former partners, threatening to sue them for defamation and asking them to retract their statements on social media as well as tender an apology to Bahl.

Vikas’s lawyers have also accused Motwane and Kashyap for reacting  without knowing the truth. Tagging them as ‘opportunists’, the legal notices read, “You are neither a witness nor the alleged victim, but instead an opportunist seeking to derive benefit based on unsubstantiated information. The alleged incident has not been established in any court of law and that you have exploited the media to propagate your own personal vendetta”

In the meantime, Anurag Kashyap, who received flak for not taking action against Bahl when the incident was brought to his notice by the employee, has stepped down from his duties at MAMI.

With public opinion against Vikas Bahl gathering momentum, many of his colleagues have taken a stand against working with him. Hrithik Roshan, who was being directed by Vikas in SUPER 30, has said on record, “it’s impossible to work with the director post the incident”. Whilst Kabir Khan’s next film ‘83’, will also exclude the shamed director from the credits.

‘Queen’ actor Rajkummar Rao also expressed his shock and extended his support to the victim. What started as a murmur, the Me Too chorus is slowly gaining momentum in an industry known for its loud silences.
