Chord Overstreet: From Glee To Acapulco

Its been a busy year for Glee Star Chord Overstreet from Acapulco Season 2 to Falling for Christmas with Lindsay Lohan.

Though he remains synonymous as Sam of Glee, in Acapulco Season 2 he stars as Chad, the super rich kid who is engaged to Julia( Camila Perez). Talking to GOODTiMES the actor said, “It’s cool to be part of a different show for a different culture and to speak Spanish and English. I am glad its happening at the perfect time in my life now since I have a desire to learn more now than ever. Am like a sponge trying to soak up as much as I can.”

The actor further adds that Acapulco depicts Mexico for what it is. “I think our writers and creators they have showcased a lot of sides authentically especially aspects that have been ignored commercially in mainstream entertainment”.

Acapulco also portrays Mexico in a positive light and breaks away from its Latino and American stereotypical depiction. Vanessa Bauche who has had a steady film and TV career said, “We can shout to the world we are much more than an apology of criminalisation of Latin American people which is constantly showcased. Mainstream media has for too long shown us in a dark light and overlooked us as human beings and created archetypes of only prostitutes and narcs. We are much more than that and very proud women.
