 Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is currently gearing for Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan 2. While we’ll see the actor play the double role in the film and we can’t wait to see her on the big screen, did you know that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan once revealed that she was removed from five films including ‘Veer Zara’ and ‘Chalte Chalte’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan?

In an old video that is circulating on social media, Aishwarya Rai is seen sharing her feelings about getting replaced. While the actor was taken aback and felt hurtful about getting replaced in the films, she revealed that no explanations were given to her regarding the same. 

During her appearance on Simi Garewal’s show, when the show host asked her about working with SRK – “You were working together in five films, weren’t you? Aish. Veer Zara was written for you.” Replying to this, Aishwarya had said, “There were a couple of films that were supposed to happen with me. But suddenly they weren’t happening, without any reason whatsoever. I have never had the answer to why.” She went on to reveal that it was not her decision to move out from these films. “No, it wasn’t my decision. You obviously are taken aback, confused and of course hurt. You wonder about it.”

Simi further proceeded, “Did that experience change your outlook on the way things work in Bollywood?” You become more aware of what you’ve heard about, like in terms of…situations, people having a domino effect on other people or another project. It became obvious that it can happen to me too…with all your apparent box office success or ‘secure positioning’ in the industry”, she added.
