During the promotions for her upcoming film ‘Darlings’ Alia Bhatt opened up about certain regressive media reports on her pregnancy that were doing rounds on the internet.
In an exclusive interview with GOODTiMES’ Puja Talwar when the actress was asked if these reports affected her, she said, “It’s a section of a certain mainstream media conversation that is extremely jaded, dated, archaic and regressive and all those words that they are trying to run away from. In the garb of writing a positive article you (media) are saying a woman’s life is now going to go topsy turvy is a bit unfair. You are not saying anything about the man. The man is also having a child so why are you saying all these things about a woman.”
She further added, “The only reason I reacted was because it was going for a hardcore commentary on…the feminist inside me woke up with all knives and all guns blazing. It’s not about me, personally. You can say whatever you want about me, but I really don’t give a damn. You are making a hardcore commentary on a woman who has been working since the beginning. Like I never stopped. That pissed me off. So, now they know that I read everything.”
Earlier in June, soon-to-be-mom Alia Bhatt slammed a news portal for claiming that Ranbir Kapoor will go to the UK to bring his wife back home. This statement of hers mentioned above is in response to the news that was falsely reported.
