Filmmaker SS Rajamouli Signs Up With The American Talent Agency CAA After The Success Of ‘RRR’

After the massive success of his latest film RRR, director SS Rajamouli has reportedly joined the American entertainment and sports agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA). While the film managed to gain a massive box office collection, it found a wider audience, including actors, filmmakers and film critics, in the US after its release on OTT. So much so, people even speculated that the film would be India’s official entry for the Oscars.

The SS Rajamouli film couldn’t make it as India’s official entry for the 95th Academy Awards and was snubbed by Gujarati film, “Chello Show” for the Best Film category.  While addressing the Oscar buzz in a recent Q&A session at the screening of RRR at the IFC Center in New York, the director said that – “Whether RRR wins an Oscar or not, my plan for the next film is not going to change. Oscar will be a real boost for morale for the (film’s) unit and the country itself, but that’s not going to change the way I work. I constantly need to upgrade myself as a filmmaker. I have to update my tools of storytelling. That goes on the side. What I want to say and how I want to is not going to change.”

The director said that there is a big chance of the film winning an Oscar award in the Best Original Song (“Naatu Naatu”) category along with director, screenplay, cinematography, production design, editing and a few other categories.

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli is working on an untitled project that stars superstar Mahesh Babu that is still in its pre-production phase. The upcoming project will mark their reunion after a long gap of 12 years.
