#GRAMMY 2023: Beyonce Breaks All Time Record, Kim Petras Creates History
Music’s biggest award night was back with a bang as Grammy Award 2023 were held in Los Angeles on February 6. Hosted by Trevor Noah, the 65th Grammy Awards was a star studded event which witnessed some record breaking wins.
Beyonce, who took home two awards this year broke the all time record of winning the maximum number of Grammy awards won by any artist.
She won her 31st Grammy for her song ‘Cuff It’ in the Best R&B song category after which she tied with Georg Solti who held the record of winning 31 Grammy awards.
Beyonce broke the record as she bagged her 32nd Grammy for ‘Renaissance’ in the Best Dance/Electronic music category.
While accepting the award ‘Queen Bey’ said, “I’m trying not to be too emotional. And I’m trying to just receive this night”.
She went ahead and said, “I’d like to thank my parents, my father, my mother, for loving me and pushing me. I’d like to thank my beautiful husband, my three beautiful children who are at home watching. I’d like to thank the queer community for your love, and for inventing this genre.”
While Beyonce became the star of the night, Kim Petras gathered praises as she created history by becoming the first ever trans woman to win a Grammy. She won the ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ along with Sam Smith for their track ‘Unholy’.
Indian composer Ricky Kej bagged his third award for Best Immersive Audio Album for ‘Divine Tides’ along with Stewart Copeland.
Harry Styles bagged album of the year award, Lizzo won record of the year and Bonnie Raitt record of the year award for ‘Just Like that’.
